Character Description

The Councilor is a poker hand played close to the chest. His is brusque, no-nonsense, and exceedingly competent. He has been everywhere and seen it all and doesn’t have the time or energy for things like small talk or niceties or anything beyond what is most necessary in the moment. As a world class “unnaturalist”, a maker of monsters, he has the demeanor of a skilled mechanic instead of anything like the warmness of a healer.

Everything about him appears to be the perfect agent of his General, but, that is only what he allows to show. But he feels something beyond what he allows to show, a responsibility to the monsters he has made, and that goes beyond anything so trivial as loyalty to his master.

Audition Lines

Line 1

(confidently talking down to a monster who would kill him, given the chance)

“And a fine job you’ve done in his absence, Creed. With your soldiers and siblings dropping like rotten apples from a tree. And we can’t very well trust the horde of sniveling street cutters and bargain basement heavies you call an organization. If we could, your sister would still be alive, wouldn’t she?”

Line 2

(all business, well practiced, an explanation he’s given before)

“A werewolf is a highly tuned system. Bit like a race car. Leave them in the field too long and problems accumulate. Wear and tear on the joints. Imbalances in the systems. The balance breaks. The engine inside will consume him for fuel. This one has gone too long between services. I will need to take him back to the bones.”

Line 3

(warm and a little smug, his plan worked out perfectly)

“I’m surprised you stayed on script as long as you did. Expected you two to go start blowing things up eventually, s’why I wanted you to meet.”
